What is Apprenticeships and traineeships?
Apprenticeships and traineeships combine formal study with on-the-job training.
In Australia, apprenticeships or traineeships are a great way to start a new career. They allow people to complete a training plan with an employer and gain a recognised VET qualification through an RTO like ACSE training provider while earning an income.
Workers and employers sign a training contract that ensures the employee is gaining high quality and recognised vocational training.
Anyone of any age can undertake these incredible career pathways, there are no education-level or entry requirements and they can be taken part-time or full-time. As a result, apprentices and trainees can range from school leavers to elders and people re-entering the workforce to people who have changed their career goals.
What qualifications ACSE offers can be earned through apprenticeship/Traineeship job training?
Apprenticeships/Traineeship are used in a range of industries. Qualifications include
1. Disability ( Cert IV in Disabillity)
2. Childcare ( Cert III & Diploma in Childcare)
3. IT ( Diploma of Information technology)
What is the difference between an apprenticeship and a traineeship?
Apprenticeships and traineeships are both job training models that combine work experience with vocational study. While they are very similar, there are some subtle differences. For example:
- Apprenticeships can take anywhere from three-four years to complete, while a traineeship can take as little as a few months.
- Apprenticeships are more focused on employment outcomes and meeting demand in industries where traineeships are more suited to short-term demand needs.
Can we gain experience and skills while you get paid?
An apprenticeship or traineeship means you learn practical skills with an employer as well as formal learning with an approved provider and get a nationally recognised qualification you can use anywhere.
You may not have much experience when you start an apprenticeship or traineeship, but will learn skills that will set you up for life.
You can even begin your apprenticeship or traineeship while you’re at school.
Employers all over Australia hold apprenticeships and traineeships in high regard. They know you’ve completed a structured program designed by industry experts.
